Mid-Season Rewind: Concerts, Outreach, and a big Thank You!
Our first concert of the 30th Season brought Baroque chamber music to the Indianapolis History Center. This intimate program featured works by J.S. Bach, Telemann, Couperin, and Marais.
This chamber concert was an opportunity for the audience to get better acquainted with members of the orchestra, including Artistic Director Barthold Kuijken and concertmaster Adriane Post.
Next, IBO returned to the stage at University of Indianapolis for the season's first orchestra concert Beyond Vivaldi, curated and led by Barthold Kuijken.
The orchestra presented a captivating program of Italian string-orchestra music from 1700-1740. The concert featured Vivaldi, Corelli, and more. The season continues in January with our next concert!
We brought Growing Up Baroque, our bilingual musical story time, to over 1,400 kids and grownups throughout Indianapolis. Award winning children's author Mariana Llanos joined IBO musicians to share her book Run, Little Chaski! This program, sharing about the history of Peru and the Inka trail, was presented during Hispanic Heritage Month.
In October, we recorded our musicians and storytellers sharing Chaski's story and the accompanying musical selections.
Stay tuned for the upcoming release of our recording of Run, Little Chaski! We can't wait to share this program with even more audiences.
In October, Artistic Director Barthold Kuijken visited flute students at Butler University to facilitate a masterclass. These talented young flautists worked on selections from J.S. Bach and Carl Reinecke.

Beyond Temporal and Eternal Things | January 31, 2027 | 4:00 PM
In collaboration with St. Paul’s Indy, this program led by Adriane Post and Brad Hughley will challenge listeners to look past the fleeting nature of the earthly world and focus on the eternal. The sacred music of Johann Sebastian Bach pivots nimbly between these two realms, using musical instruments as vivid metaphors to guide our spiritual compass on an earthly pilgrimage.
