Growing Up Baroque: Run, Little Chaski!

From September 29 - October 4, 2026 Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra musicians brought Run, Little Chaski! to over 1400 kids and grown-ups across the greater Indianapolis area. The 10-venue tour of the 2026 Growing Up Baroque Program was our biggest yet. Audiences were treated to a bilingual musical story time, narrated by award winning children's author Mariana Llanos and award-winning children’s librarian Lucy Wortham, and led by violinist Sarah Cranor. Students and Families heard Chaski's story in both Spanish and English, accompanied by selections from the Codex Trujillo del Peru, an amazing encyclopedia of life in Peru in the 1780s. The program ended with singing and dancing to the theme song to “Run, Little Chaski”!

The program corresponded with Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 - October 15.
