Italy is more than just Vivaldi’s Four Seasons! This program reflects the great variety in Italian forms and styles in the late 17th and earlier 18th centuries. Barthold Kuijken will lead the orchestra in a program including composers famous in their own time, but living in the shadow of Vivaldi and Corelli today. It’s up to you to discover their quality and charm!

In collaboration with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, this program led by Adriane Post and Brad Hughley will challenge listeners to look past the fleeting nature of the earthly world and focus on the eternal. The sacred music of Johann Sebastian Bach pivots nimbly between these two realms, using musical instruments as vivid metaphors to guide our spiritual compass on an earthly pilgrimage.

Meet the Musicians
Meet Joanna Blendulf, baroque cellist with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra and professor at the Jacobs School of Music. In our latest Meet the Musician spotlight, hear Joanna share her journey to playing baroque cello, from Interlochen Arts Camp in high school through to her graduate studies at Indiana University. She discusses some of the most exciting elements of early music, and her favorite part of playing with IBO - playing continuo with her friends!

This Fall, the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra proudly reprises our much-loved, one-of-a-kind bilingual musical story time. IBO violinist Sarah Cranor teams up with award-winning Peruvian children’s author Mariana Llanos to bring the vibrant world of 18th-century Latin America straight to our community with Run, Little Chaski!
