April 12, 2025
On the eve of Palm Sunday, April 12 at 7 pm, members of the Second’s Sanctuary Choir and the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra will join with professional soloists and chorus to present J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Carmel.
Enveloped by the gospel text of Jesus’ last days, you, the listener, will have an opportunity to enter into the passion story.
To weep with Peter after his denial of Christ; not only for Peter, but for ourselves as we, too, so often deny Christ in our daily lives.
To cry out with the crowd “Kreuzige” (Crucify), for we acknowledge that we, too, in so many small ways, crucify Christ.
And finally, to affirm our faith that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We invite you to journey with us to Golgotha – to look deeply and honestly into your soul and to take up the wings of faith, for it is on the hill of the cross where salvation is found.
