We are all thankful for Johann Sebastian Bach’s immense creative output, in quantity and in quality, but sometimes it is forgotten that four of his sons were extremely talented as well. We present four works by this next generation of the Bachs: Wilhelm Friedeman (°1710), Carl Philipp Emmanuel (°1714), Johann Christoph Friedrich (°1732, the same year as Joseph Haydn), and Johann Christian (°1735). Through their compositions we experience the stylistic evolution from High Baroque over Sturm und Drang towards Rococo and Classicism – a fascinating voyage through time!
